Hi, I’m Alexis Henley (MSc, MBA) and I am a Dru yoga teacher.
I have been practising many yogic styles for over 30 years, including Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga. I discovered Dru yoga in 2011 and decided to train as a Dru yoga teacher at the International School of Dru Yoga in beautiful Snowdonia.
My training includes over 300 hours of training in anatomy and physiology, postures, breathing techniques, meditation, subtle energy and lesson planning. The International School of Dru Yoga is registered with the Yoga Alliance.
In addition I have a post graduate yoga qualification in back care and offer 1-2-1 programmes for people with chronic back pain. I also hold a certificate in Ayurveda diet and lifestyle, 1-2-1 consultations are available by arrangement.
As a health care scientist for 30 years I have always been fascinated by how the body works, particularly what is it that makes people different and yet the same. Dru yoga recognises the differences in peoples bodies and the postures and sequences can be modified so that they are accessible to all.
My longstanding interest in subtle energies and my passion for learning has led me to study vipassana and transcendental meditation, aromatherapy, crystal healing and reiki.
