Laura Evans

Beehive Healthcare Chester | Pre and Postnatal Care | Laura Evans chester lactation consultant

Hi, my name is Laura. I live in Chester, Cheshire with my husband and my three boys. Being the mother of three boys means we spend a lot of time outdoors! I enjoy keeping fit and healthy by playing netball, practising yoga and walking our three Labradors! I enjoy organising parenting events in the community and volunteer for The National Childbirth Trust (NCT).

I am a qualified Nurse and Health Visitor and I have been working with families for over fifteen years. In 2018 I fulfilled my lifelong ambition and qualified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consult (IBCLC). I run antenatal infant feeding workshops, community breastfeeding support groups, provide one to one support for mothers with complex breastfeeding challenges and train breastfeeding peer supporters and NHS health professionals. I can also support mothers with expressing and bottle feeding, combination feeding or formula feeding.

I am qualified to help parents recognise the unique skills their baby has been born with (Neonatal Behavioural Observation), positive parenting techniques (Solihull Approach) and developmental assessments (Ages and Stages Questionnaires).

I work with families holistically and will support you on your journey from pregnancy to parenthood. I am there for the whole family unit and I will work in partnership with you to help you reach your breastfeeding goals.

Breastfeeding may be natural, but it's a skill that you and your baby learn together, and it can take some practice. With the right support you will achieve your goals!

I provide the following packages of support

Antenatal package

  • The development of your unborn baby
  • Changes for you and your partner
  • Your health and wellbeing
  • Practical tips for preparing for birth

As every family is unique, the support I provide will be tailored to you and your family. To prepare for our sessions please complete the infant feeding history form and have your child's red book available. Assessments will be completed together and care plans will be reviewed to ensure you receive the best quality care.

As a mother I understand that babies don't come with a manual! Those early weeks can be especially challenging as you and your baby learn to navigate your way through your new life together. Parenting can be stressful and amazing all at the same time! Someone once said to me 'just remember, you are the centre of the universe to a tiny human that YOU made from scratch. You ARE kind of a big deal!' That gave me the confidence to trust my instincts and believe in myself! I will help you do the same!
