What is it and what I can expect?
Swedish Massage is the most common type of massage found at a spa. It combines various hands-on techniques to warm, then break up muscle knots known as adhesions.
Swedish massage is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology as opposed to energy work. It can be slow and gentle or vigorous and bracing, depending your requirements. It is possible to experience some discomfort but our massage therapists in Chester will always work to a level you are comfortable and happy with.
The massage therapist lubricates the skin with massage oil and usually takes 50 to 60 minutes to massage the whole body. It is a deep and warming massage intended to relieve muscular aches and pains by concentrating on the body's main support structure. It soothes and tones, leaving you feeling calm, refreshed and full of vigour, and helps to relieve headaches and back pain. The result is increased energy levels and a feeling of vitality.
If you require a postural analysis, this can be provided by Sandra Leyland-Williams who is also based in Chester.

Because we believe in integrated care and ensuring you have the best treatment for you, there is a lot of choice at the Beehive. We understand that this can be confusing but all massage treatments start with a consultation where you can discuss your personal health and well being issues. The therapist will advise you if they feel an alternative treatment would be more beneficial. Alternatively contact us and we can talk you through the options.
