Mum Knows Best

Throughout the month, we have brought you lots of topics and advice that highlight, celebrate and reflect on issues that affect the women in our lives.

For example:

The health benefits of Tai Chi in relation to the menopause

The Book at Bedtime bookcase appeal for victims of domestic abuse

Therapist in Focus Jackie Butler on Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy

Nicola Wagstaff’s tips for relieving anxiety

But I’m sure we can all agree that there is no woman more special, nor advice more cherished and heeded, than that of Mum.  So, we’ve asked our Beehive therapists to share with us some pearly words of wisdom from their own mums – after all Mum knows best!

Emma Brimson – The Cheshire Aesthetic Clinic

“My mum always told me to treat others how you would like to be treated yourself. A cliche, but excellent life advice nevertheless”

Sami Blackford  – Freyaluna Skincare

“I’ve been trying to think of a nugget of wisdom my Mum has given me. I’m sure there have been loads over the years! All I can think of at the moment is “Everything in moderation”. This mostly referred to food and diet – Mum has never been one for ‘going on a diet’, starving herself, or depriving herself, and that has been very helpful to me and my relationship with my own body.”

Sharon Shelbourne – Beehive Healthcare Managing Director

“Always be independent and be able to stand on your own two feet. Thus, I have been working ever since!!!!”

Jo Wood – Beehive Healthcare Practice Manager

“My mum always told me to accept people as they are, and work with them from that place forwards.”

Claire Hegarty – NLP, Breakthrough Coaching, Gastric band Hypnotherapy

“If you’ve got it, flaunt it!”

Helen Conway – Bodywork Pilates

“Not words of wisdom, but when I was about 19, slim and very fit, my mum once told me I had ‘your nanas arms!!! Only a mother….”

Sounds like sterling advice to us; what a wonderful way to round off our Women’s Month here at the Beehive!
